Leah Summers

Mrs. Summers has enjoyed many years in various roles in education, from teaching kindergarten through high school, coaching different sports including a state championship boys cross country team, and counseling elementary, junior high and high school students. All of these jobs have been rewarding and exciting. In her free time she rides a tandem bike with my husband, goes hiking, travels, camps, backpacks and reads. Her husband Mike is a professor of microbiology at CSUN and her daughter is attending UMASS in a PhD program in microbiology. Mrs. Summers family is also enriched by 2 dogs .She has lived in 8 different states, 2 foreign countries, and enjoyed living and working in all those places. She feels Golden Valley High School is a great place to work and the students are wonderful.
Travis Wiese
Li-Pa (500 bldg)
Mr. Wiese began his career in education in 2000. He taught 7th and 8th grade History at both Sierra Vista and at Rio Norte Junior High School. He received his Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of La Verne in the Fall of 2005 and enjoys working now at Golden Valley. Growing up in the Santa Clarita Valley made such an impression on him that he decided to work here after attending college in Long Beach. Mr Wiese went Arroyo Seco Junior High and Saugus High School, graduating in 1994. Outside of school, Mr. Wiese enjoys snow boarding, playing guitar, hiking, camping, and listening to all types of music.
Devorah Robinson

Mrs. Robinson's counseling experience has been both challenging and fulfilling. In the short time she has been Golden Valley, she has had the pleasure of building relationships with many students as well as parents. Those invaluable opportunities have allowed her to increase her level of awareness and her love for her career! She received her Masters Degree from Cal Lutheran University and her hobbies include traveling, kick boxing, and watching TV game shows.
Justin Thomas
Sh-Z (200 bldg)
Mr. Thomas began his career in education at the elementary level, working to establish and monitor a physical education curriculum. In the summer months he taught swim lessons to preschool and elementary aged children. He moved to San Diego and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition at SDSU and it was at this point that he realized he wanted to pursue a career in education. He received his Master of Science in School Counseling from CSU Northridge and has been at Golden Valley HS ever since. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, ping pong, bowling, basketball and any other outdoor activities. Grizzlies Rock!
