Work in Progress Form Schedule COC Work In Progress blue forms (also called WIPs) are given to the students three times each semester. Students ask their COC instructors to fill them out and include the students' attendance records, academic progress, and grades (if available). Students then take the form home for a parent signature before returning it to their teachers. Advisement and elective teachers monitor the WIP distribution and collection. Students earn grades for completing the WIP and turning it in when it is due. Parents: Students will be handed a WIP form on these dates. It is due back to me on the due date or students will receive a 10% penalty on the grade. Students may not use the excuse that teachers cancelled class or that students forgot to have the teacher sign the form. To avoid this, students are advised to email COC instructors immediately on the day of receiving a WIP form and ask for a grade so as to increase the liklihood of getting a grade on time. Students should print this email to the teacher in case a class is cancelled or the teacher does not respond. This will prevent a student from receiving a penalty for one week. If students do not email the COC teacher on the day it is due, students WILL receive a penalty for a missing grade on the WIP form. This functions as a preventative method. Students are still expected to talk to the COC teacher and ask for the grade, especially if the teacher has not responded by the time the student has the class. Students are also still expected to bring the WIP form to all COC classes and insist on a grade. Only the first WIP form can have a pass/fail mark. All follwing WIPs must have a grade.
