Extra Credit Assignment
Purpose of Extra Credit: To encourage students to learn, read, and write.
What is the weeky Extra Credit? For U.S. History, Students are to choose an article from the newspaper dealing with economic news, world politics, U.S. politics, government, national news stories, U.S. and World events, and local stories related to the city of Santa Clarita. Next, they are to read the article, cut it out from the news paper and write a 10 sentence summary of the article. They must then staple them together and turn them into me .
For Biology, Students are to choose a Science related Article from a magazine, newpaper, or off the internet. Cut or Print out a copy of the Article, and write a 10 sentence summary of the article.
When is it due? On Monday or at the beginning of each week. If the student forgets to turn in his extra credit at the beginning of the week, he or she may turn in two assignments at the beginning of the following week.
How Many Points is it worth? 10 Points for each quality article and quality summary completed and turned in.
