Course Objectives:

1. Develop an awareness of your interests and personality as it relates to occupational choice.

2. Become familiar with a variety of occupational resources and career options that are available.

3. To generate two to three career options for further exploration.

4. To develop an action plan for achieving student goals.

 

Course Materials:

Text Book: Fearon’s Careers.

 

Grades and Expectations:

Grading is based on a pure point system.   Students will keep a record of their grades and assignments in their Career Vision Note books.

 

GRADING POLICY:

300 into 25000 which will average into a grade of 83% which would translate into a grade of B.   (See grading scale below.)

GRADING SCALE:

Students who do all of the required work will be graded based on the following:

 

“A+” = 99%-100%

“A” = 98% - 91%

“A-“= 90% - 89%

 

“B+” = 88%

“B” = 87% - 81%

“B-“= 80% - 79%

 

“C+” = 78%

“C” = 77% - 71%

“C-“= 70% - 69%

 

“D+” = 68%

“D” = 67% - 60%

“D-“= 59% - 56%

 

Grade of fail (F)

Grades of fail will be earned by those students who:

 

Classroom and School Rules: (failure to follow these rules will result in classroom and school consequences)

1) No student at any time may put his head down and sleep during class.

2) No food or soda is allowed in the classroom.  

3) Students will remain in their assigned seats during class.

4) No cell phones, IPODS, text messaging or use of any head phones.

5) Students may not open cabinets, drawers, or touch things that do not belong to them.

6) No hoods or hats may to worn in class.

7) If   a student is asked to change seats he or she must move.  

8) Students will use polite and respectful speech.   NO PROFANITY for any reason.

9) Student will not put on or apply makeup or take out a mirror during class.
