In the 16th century, the period of French Revolution,
the novel begins with young Lucy Manette, an adopted
French-English woman who unites with her real father without realizing of his
existence. Dr. Alexander Manette is a French
physician who was blamed for the deaths that he hadn’t cause and spent
30 years in a prison of Bastille. From the imprisonment he is gone crazy and
later is released. When young daughter and the father unite, they are both
shocked at existence of each other. Through Lucy’s devoted care of her
father, Dr. Manette regains his memory. Few years
later, young men named Charles Darnay and Sydney
Carton propose to Lucy. Surprisingly even though they are not related, they
both look alike. She marries Darnay through a lot
of considerations and rejects Carton’s proposal. Lucy and Darnay after their marriage, receive their precious
