THE QUADRATIC RAP By Sara Rodriguez To learn the Quadra-tic, Here’s a simple trick, So easy, you won’t get sick… We got this by completing the square, No easy task, so do beware, Once done, you’ll jump in the air… Start with ax2
+ bx + c = 0, This standard form is my math hero, It won’t ever sell you down the rio… Now get the coefficients of each variable, Set them to a,
b, and c, if you’re able, Almost there, this ain’t no fable… Now set up that (b2 – 4ac) square root, Get ready to holler and hoot, You can finish this, you are no brute… You know your values, just plug ‘em in, Now simply compute, that’s no sin, Calculate
Math Poem By: Jamie Gonlag Numbers, symbols, and equations Sometimes difficult for this Caucasian. Everyday in period 7 Definitely not a slice of heaven. From 2 to 3, for one whole hour I sit and wonder why math’s so sour. Math can be very scary and sometimes makes me extremely wary.
Especially with these crazy terms, All of which I have to learn. When Mrs. Komen stats talking about “Phi”, I just want to
curl up and die. Tanx = sinx /cosx, that’s trig, But my brain just can’t get that big. Inverses…don’t get me started, csc and sin, Takes up too much of my time! Sin squared x + Cos squared x = 1 Oh how I wish I was outside in the sun. All of this is hard to “compute”, my brain just wants to
dilute. Now it’s time for something fun Like when is this class going to be done. So as I sit and ponder why All I need to do is try, try, try! While, I write this to
raise my grade I truly know, I’d rather be at a parade. As my poem comes to an end I know next class I will try to comprehend. And as I always do and say Try my best and make it a good day!
The Functions By: Sam Gardner Hello there, the angle with a measure The relation of the six functions and sides The unsuspecting radians and degrees throughout the quadrants We can measure the basic 30, 45, 60 But in the other quadrants It can go up to a 360 And in the hundreds the functions aren't the same The functions can be minus [Chorus] You are the sin, the cos, the tan And alternate the three (the functions) You are the sin, the cos, the tan And alternate the three (the functions) A triangle, it goes up and side and slope Make a formula, equation and a graph With the six trig functions The strange but obvious connections Times pie over two minus "X" equals the opposite And I solved I plugged in That same longer problem with one word One of the six trig functions When their in an equation with an equal sign try something To make both sides equal Only work with one side at a time Look for opportunities to find identities When it is a graph it looks like waves Or line with a dent (the functions) The coefficient is the amplitude And period has to be solved (the functions) [Chorus] Mathematics By: Samantha Ralston This is mathematics There's always simply more, just throw some numbers into the mix, simple add that four, put it together and you get PI! The Pi should make a good snack, that 3.141592653 so don't overreact. just be a little care-free you'll get there baby! Just one more step add some knickknacks You're there, YEP! But just take some patty-whacks And that is Mathematics! |

Please oh great Sohcahtoa, show me a sine! Trigonometry Haiku Trigonometry shows all of the angles in actuality. Math Learning math is Such a breeze, But very few can learn With such ease. Pythagoras Mister Pythagoras Was the man Who made the triangle as Equal as he can.
Math Poem
By Taylor New Math, Math you’re a tedious task. I
am glad though, you are my last class. For
years now I have been doing so much work, You
have been making me go berserk! Math,
Math there are circles and squares, They
don’t even give us comfortable chairs. Taking
quizzes and cheating on tests. Always
trying to do our best. Math,
Math please just stop! I
am tired of counting numbers to the top! Sharpening
pencils and erasing marks, I’d
rather be playing in the parks. Math,
Math you make me cry, I
think I would rather die. You’ve
told us before, that 2+2=4, Please
don’t tell us anymore. Math,
Math Mrs. Komen is my teacher, Oh!
What a beautiful creature. Shes
taught me well this year, she deserves to hear, That
I hope she never disappear. Math,
Math you’ve made me drool Through
grade school, junior high and don’t forget high school. Continuing
through College and all the years to come, I
hope I don’t end up so dumb. Math,
Math you’ve made us multiply, and add, But
after all these years, I’ve realized you’re not that bad. You
mean a lot to me, oh yes you do. All I have to say is that I love you too!
MATH IS AS EASY AS STUNTING By:
Torey De Santis
One girl on
top Plus three
on the bottom If she
flops that means minus one on top Add a new
flyer Subtract
one leg And
hopefully there she will stay The tricks
she can do Are just
like math two Multiply, divide Stunting is
just like a ride There are
many steps to the tricks she can do And when
put together its just like, One plus
two After a
cradle, One, two And now our
lesson is done Math and
stunting "One o one" A Letter To Mr. Math By Holly Downs Arithmetic , mathematics, the devil; Whatever you want to call yourself, I am no fan of yours. Yes, I put up with you for most of my life, But that doesn’t mean I’ve grown to fancy you. All of your formulas, identities and laws have been engraved into my mind;
I cannot escape your manipulative and daunting ways. O math, you will be my lifetime foe, And yet, as I continue on my dreaded journey with you, I can’t help but realize you are necessary for my incalculable success. Math By: Caprice Primo Math
may be fun but it also is tough Like logs and trig, oh that is sure rough Every
year we are taught something new They
are sure a step up from 2+2 But
it is definitely not as hard as it seems So
here is what I think math should mean M is for multiplying, it will never go away A is for adding, we use it everyday T is for theta and I learned it this year H is for the happiness that comes from solving
a problem and you must cheer No,
that is not all there is to learn Cause
if it was, you should be concerned Natural
logs, probability, tangent, and sin Nth
term, amplitudes, factorials, and cosine Cubed
numbers, fractions, lines, and decimals Pi,
parenthesis, vertexes, and radicals You
can factor out (2a+b)2 Or
try to find a graphing pair Let’s
plot a frequency and see how it dips And
then try to find the equation of an ellipse This
is just some stuff you’ll find in Algebra 2 So
thank you Ms. Komen, we owe it all to you! |
